Have you ever felt cherophobia?
Cherophobia, according to Healthline (2017), is a phobia where a person has an irrational aversion to being happy. It can stem from the belief that if something very good happens to a person, or if their life is going well, that a bad event is destined to happen.

The song starts with the line, "We're alone, I'm fighting the urge to say, "Well, this is it."" Good start, right? Well, for them, on the other hand, I don't think so. As the title implies, this song is a breakup song. It is about a couple who're currently breaking up and are going through a painful process while still appreciating the love and memories they had when they were together. Benjamin started mellow, without any instruments, but was then followed by an electric guitar that added drama to the song.
Hurt, dismay, fear, bitterness, disappointment, denial, and acceptance were the emotions that I think the couple was feeling as they faced the breakup together. They were reminiscing about the past, the memories that they made together, and the future that they'll face, only this time without each other. On the other hand, I think they both knew that the relationship was better off in the end. My speculation for their breakup would be that they outgrew each other; they can no longer carry each other's expectations, or they weren't simply compatible in the end.
I think that a clean break up hurts more than a messy one because both knew that they've tried your best to keep the relationship, but it just wasn't meant to be, so now they're lamenting the fact that they have now arrived at the end of the beginning.
Can a situation like this become a source of one's cherophobia? What are your thoughts about it?
