Dry Flower

Remember that change is the only thing that's permanent in life.

Before writing this post, I took a break and read two slice-of-life manga. They're called Boy's Abyss and Oyasumi Punpun.

Weirdly, people try their best to live the life they want, but fate thinks that it has a better plan for them instead. I just thought that it was sad how some of the events portrayed in the manga were inspired and are happening in the real world.

Sad song recommendation time!

This hour's sad song is Dry Flower by Yuuri, a Japanese artist. I also adore this song! (before the canon event happened, that is) As you can tell, I write about songs that I connect with or I felt resonates with my situation the best. I love the way this song makes me feel though: wrap myself in a heated blanket in this sweltering weather as I pick out my hair one by one.😊

I have a love-hate relationship with this song as this song was the last link I had with that person. He dedicated this to me, how cute.

For so long I've been meaning to say

We probably aren't suited for each other

In a room with just the two of us

You were the only one talking

I am indeed the only one talking in this room. You lost interest a long time ago; I was speaking, and you could indeed hear, but you simply weren't listening. We were in the same room, but it felt like there was a wall between us. I tried to mend us, but you wanted to break free. Our time was due, and we put up a good fight. It's time to set out on another journey, just like the way we were before each other.

Your voice, your face, your awkwardness

I guess, even now I kind of like

Like a dry flower with passing time

Probably, probably, probably, probably

Fade away in color

The chorus draws a comparison between the narrator's relationship and a 'dried flower,' suggesting that despite her efforts to preserve it, it will inevitably wither and fade over time. The song I chose to write about will always convey the sadness of a dying relationship, mourning what it could have become, and ultimately accepting that the relationship has served its purpose. It reminds us that there is so much more to life than temporary sadness. Did you catch that pattern?

Your voice, your face, your awkwardness

All of it, all of it I hate

Flowers that have yet to wilt

I place with you

Forever, forever, forever, forever

Hold on to them

This is the final chorus of the song. It concludes that the singer grew to hate their partner but also admits that they still have feelings for them. I need a good session of lifting weights after this. A breather is much appreciated.
